On this episode we are talking about beekeeping! Yes, beekeeping! There is a growing interest and engagement in beekeeping, not only in Interior Alaska but in the entire state. So why do so many people engage in beekeeping? Well, some folks engage in this activity because they just like honey. Some keep bees to provide them honey for relief from allergies, and some use honey from their bees for general health and medicinal purposes, and for some it’s an enterprise. They sell honey at farmers markets, small co-ops and local stores. For whatever reason, it’s an activity that requires love, passion, dedication, time and resources.
